The pursuit of aerodynamic form

The Study for an Aerodynamic Berlinetta is a design illustration created in 1952, a period of great experimentation for Italian automotive design.

The concept is distinguished by a body with soft, aerodynamic lines, characterized by continuous surfaces, a strongly elongated profile, and a tapered tail.

The wheels partially integrated into the body bear witness to the search for innovative solutions aimed at improving air penetration and achieving a visually more fluid shape.

The compact cockpit and elongated proportions anticipate some of the themes that would characterize subsequent grand touring cars.
