The pursuit of aerodynamic form
The Study for an Aerodynamic Berlinetta is a design illustration created in 1952, a period of great experimentation for Italian automotive design.
The concept is distinguished by a body with soft, aerodynamic lines, characterized by continuous surfaces, a strongly elongated profile, and a tapered tail.
The wheels partially integrated into the body bear witness to the search for innovative solutions aimed at improving air penetration and achieving a visually more fluid shape.
The compact cockpit and elongated proportions anticipate some of the themes that would characterize subsequent grand touring cars.
Although it remained a conceptual proposal, the work documents Pininfarina's pioneering interest in aerodynamic efficiency and the development of new automotive proportions in the post-war period.
Why choose it
More than a drawing: an authentic testimony to the Pininfarina creative process.
The dark background, delicate luminous strokes, and almost sculptural shape of the car transform the technical study into an elegant and contemporary composition.
The print is ideal for architecture and design studios, offices, showrooms, private collections, and environments dedicated to design.
Each copy is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity, an editorial card dedicated to the work, and a descriptive postcard of the Pininfarina Heritage project.
