A vision of the car of the future

Unveiled at the 1984 Turin Motor Show, the Honda HP-X is a high-performance sports concept car born from the collaboration between Honda and Pininfarina.

The car features a mid-engine configuration and is equipped with a special 2.0-liter Honda V6 Formula 2 engine.

The bodywork uses lightweight materials that were particularly advanced for their time, including Kevlar, carbon fiber, and honeycomb panels. The aerodynamic profile was developed to maximize ground effect, while keeping the vehicle suitable for potential road use.

Among its most characteristic solutions are the large transparent dome integrating the windshield and roof, the automatically activated rear airbrake, and the Kamm-tail design.
