A vision of the car of the future

Presented at the 1984 Turin Motor Show, the Honda HP-X is a high-performance sports concept car born from the collaboration between Honda and Pininfarina.

The project adopts a mid-engine configuration and is equipped with a special 2.0-liter Honda V6 Formula 2 engine.

The bodywork uses lightweight and innovative materials for the time, including Kevlar, carbon fiber, and honeycomb panels. The aerodynamic profile was developed to maximize ground effect, while keeping the car suitable for possible road use.

One of the most distinctive elements is the large transparent dome that integrates the windshield and roof. The rear section also incorporates an airbrake capable of activating automatically at high speeds.

The Kamm-tail design, with its characteristic truncated tail, contributes to improving stability and aerodynamic efficiency.

The interior also anticipates the future, integrating digital displays, advanced electronic technologies, and a navigation system.
