A sculpture in motion

The Cisitalia 202 holds a unique place in automotive and design history. It was the first car to enter the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York, where it was described as a true "sculpture in motion".

It is also one of the rarest automobiles of its era: today, approximately 170 examples are known. The limited production is linked to the highly handcrafted nature of its construction.

The body panels were hand-shaped on wooden forms, using a technique derived from the coachbuilding tradition, rather than being made through industrial stamping processes.

Pininfarina's revolutionary design abandons ornamentation and the separation between different body parts, favoring a continuous, harmonious, and almost monocoque structure.
