A sculpture in motion
The Cisitalia 202 holds a unique place in automotive and design history. It was the first car to enter the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York, where it was described as a true "sculpture in motion".
It is also one of the rarest cars of its era: today, approximately 170 examples are known. The limited production is also due to the highly handcrafted nature of its construction.
Using a technique derived from the tradition of horse-drawn carriages, the body panels were hand-shaped over wooden forms, instead of being made through industrial stamping processes.
Pininfarina's revolutionary design abandoned the decorations and the separation between different parts of the bodywork, typical of cars of that era, favoring a continuous, harmonious, and almost monocoque structure.
Fenders, hood, passenger compartment, and rear section merge into a single fluid volume. The thin aluminum body of the Cisitalia 202 thus appears to be shaped by nature rather than by human hand.
This formal purity transformed the car into a fundamental reference for modern automotive design and helped establish the Pininfarina-signed Italian style worldwide.
Why choose it
More than a reproduction: the artistic interpretation of one of the most significant automobiles of the twentieth century.
Dexter Brown's painterly language enhances the fluid and sculptural forms of the Cisitalia 202 through color, movement, and texture, creating a composition with a strong visual impact.
The print is ideal for professional studios, offices, showrooms, private collections, and environments dedicated to art, design, and automotive culture.
Each copy is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity, an editorial card that tells the story of the subject, and a descriptive postcard of the Pininfarina Heritage project.
