The encounter between America and Italy
The Cadillac V16 represents a fundamental milestone in the history of Pinin Farina. It was, in fact, the company's first project carried out on a non-Italian chassis, giving life to an exclusive encounter between American engineering and the creativity of Italian design.
Inspired by the sports roadsters of the era, the car combines elegance, luxury and a dynamic character. Although conceived as a two-seater spider, its generous dimensions allow for two additional seats hidden in the tapered rear section.
These retractable seats increase the versatility of the car without compromising the clean lines and elegance of the profile.
The bodywork features separate fenders. The rear ones introduce stylistic elements that would become very popular in subsequent years. The traditional side running boards are eliminated, making the silhouette more essential and aerodynamic.
Other distinctive details include the split windshield and the five ventilation openings arranged on each side of the hood.
The project helped establish Pinin Farina's international reputation and paved the way for future collaborations between major car manufacturers and prestigious Italian coachbuilders.
