Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is recycled graphite? Is it truly ecological?
Yes. Perpetua is made from 80% recycled graphite, an industrial waste material recovered and transformed into a design product. It is a concretely sustainable pencil: it reduces industrial waste and lasts 22 times longer than a traditional pencil, further reducing environmental impact.
Does it really write for 1,000 km? How is that possible?
Yes. Recycled graphite has a different density and composition than traditional graphite, which gives it exceptional durability. The line is fine and precise, and the pencil wears down much more slowly than a standard pencil.
Does it sharpen like a normal pencil? What happens if it breaks?
Yes, it sharpens normally with any pencil sharpener. But Perpetua's unique feature is that it also writes without a tip and even if broken in two pieces: both pieces continue to function perfectly.
What is the Compasso d'Oro and why is it important?
The Compasso d'Oro is the most prestigious design award in the world, awarded by ADI (Association for Industrial Design) since 1954. The Honorable Mention received by Perpetua in 2016 recognizes the excellence of its design and the innovation of the material.
What colors is it available in?
Perpetua The Classic Pencil is available in 7 colors: Red, Lime Green, White, Blue, Flag Green, Light Blue, and Yellow. Note: some variants may have limited availability.
Is it suitable as a gift or as a complement to a Pininfarina pen?
Absolutely. At only €7.50, Perpetua is the most accessible and surprising gift in the catalog: an award-winning, ecological design object with a story to tell. Perfect to combine with a Pininfarina pen or a notebook to create a complete writing set.
