Frequently asked questions about the product

What does "dual compartment" mean and how is the interior organized?

The 177 Dual Briefcase has two physically separate main compartments: the rear compartment is the one closest to your back and contains the padded slot for a laptop (MacBook Pro 16"), space for an iPad Pro, A4 documents, and a water bottle pocket. The front compartment opens completely flat and is designed to organize cables, chargers, an agenda, pens, and tech accessories. The external zip pocket is for frequently used items.

What does it mean that the front compartment opens "flat"?

The front compartment has a full 180° opening, allowing it to be laid flat on a desk or table, like an open book. This makes it much easier to organize and find accessories inside without rummaging. It's particularly useful at the airport, in a hotel, or during meetings.

What laptop is compatible?

The 177 Dual Briefcase is compatible with the MacBook Pro 16" and most similarly sized Windows laptops. The compartment is padded to protect your device during travel. It is also compatible with iPad Pro and other similarly sized tablets.

Is there space for a water bottle?

Yes. The rear compartment includes a dedicated space for a water bottle, a practical and rare detail in leather briefcases. It's designed for those who use the bag during business trips, meetings, or days out of the office and don't want to carry a separate bag for water.

Does it attach to a trolley?

Yes. There is a pass-through sleeve on the back that allows you to secure the briefcase to the telescopic handle of a trolley, making travel at the airport or train station much more convenient.

What is the difference between this Dual Briefcase and the 178 Journeyman Briefcase?

Both are professional briefcases made from Gruppo Mastrotto Italian cowhide leather, but with some key differences: the 177 Dual Briefcase has dual separate compartments with a flat front opening (ideal for visibly organizing tech accessories) and a capacity of 12 L with dimensions of 42 × 28 × 10 cm. The 178 Journeyman Briefcase has a wide top opening with a single, larger main compartment (13.5 L, 43 × 31.5 × 10 cm) and a hammered finish instead of pebbled. Those who prefer to neatly separate contents will choose the Dual; those who prefer a single large space with top access will choose the Journeyman.

Is the leather genuine? What does "pebbled" finish mean?

Yes. The 177 Dual Briefcase is made from pebbled Italian cowhide leather, sourced from the Gruppo Mastrotto tannery. The pebbled finish is a treatment that gives the leather a grainy, slightly irregular texture, similar to small pebbles. Compared to smooth leather, it is more resistant to scratches and daily wear and has a more structured and professional appearance. The tanning process is environmentally certified.

How do I care for and clean it?

For routine cleaning, a soft, dry cloth is sufficient. To maintain the leather's softness and shine over time, it is recommended to periodically apply a neutral leather conditioner. Avoid prolonged exposure to heavy rain, direct sunlight, and excessive heat. In case of accidental wetting, gently blot and allow to air dry away from heat sources.

Is it suitable as a gift?

Yes, it is a valuable gift for anyone who works daily with a laptop and appreciates genuine Italian leather accessories. The combination of professional functionality, dual compartments, and timeless design makes it appreciated for significant birthdays, graduations, anniversaries, and any special occasion.
