Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Is the Schmidt cartridge replaceable? Where can I find it?
Yes. The Piuma Ink uses a Schmidt S635 cartridge (D1 format), a widely used standard that is easily available in specialized stationery stores, pen shops, or online. It is compatible with many other quality ballpoint pens.
How does the base work? Does the stylus really stay in balance?
Yes. The mirrored stainless steel base is designed to hold the stylus at its natural center of gravity, allowing it to rest in horizontal balance. It's a surprising visual effect that makes the Piuma an exhibition piece as well as a writing instrument.
What is the difference compared to the Forever Piuma Ethergraf?
The Piuma Ink (€49) uses a ballpoint tip with a Schmidt cartridge: ink writing, fluid and immediate, suitable for daily use. The Piuma Ethergraf uses the Ethergraf® tip: inkless writing by paper oxidation, more poetic and contemplative. Same Leonardo-inspired design, different writing technology.
Is it suitable as a gift for a fan of Leonardo da Vinci or Italian design?
Absolutely yes. At €49, the Forever Piuma Leonardo Ink is one of the most original and culturally rich gifts in the catalog: solid wood, Schmidt cartridge, steel base with Leonardo's signature, and artisan Italian production. Perfect for collectors, history enthusiasts, design lovers, and Made in Italy fans.
